"Bather With a Beach Ball"

The name of this painting is "Bather With a Beach Ball" it was painted by Pablo Picasso in August 1932.

The first thing that I noticed about this painting was that it had both geometric and organic shapes. Also it has horizontal lines so the background appears to be calm. The painting also has value, at the top corner is a dark purple and the as you go to the bottom of the painting it turns into a light blue. The center of the painting appears to be 2D Im not sure if Picasso used chiaroscuro to make the image look 2D or 3D. As well as having lines the painting also has an edge. The painting has positive and negative space.
